The company is the UK's leading provider of modern urban management services, running parking enforcement services for over 40 local authorities as well as providing enforcement services for Transport for London, the DVLA and the Northern Ireland Roads Services.
NCP Services also provides transport at UK airports, runs a growing bus operation and runs a transport design consultancy. Following the release of the report, NCP Services' communications manager, James Pritchard said;
"Today has seen the Government take an important step towards developing a truly integrated transport network for the UK.
"For too long transport concerns have been artificially broken up between the interests of different modes, when what the UK desperately needs is a system which works as a whole.
The approach we need as a nation is one which incorporates the various forms of transport; rail, road and air, into a well thought out and properly managed whole and which accepts that people like to have a choice when they are making a journey.
We also welcome the reports comments about the importance of a serious and informed consideration of congestion charging in own crowded cities. London has shown the benefits of this approach in managing our streets and the Government is right to show leadership on this issue.
As a business which provides a range of transport management services to both government and private clients we recognise the challenge in getting the balance of provision right but we welcome this report as the start of a period of debate and reflection about our countrys transport needs.
We will ourselves contribute, and hope that in doing so we can play our part in building a transport infrastructure for the UK where trains, buses, bicycles, aeroplanes, cars and even simple journeys on foot all play the role they are best suited to in making sure we can get from where we are to where we want to be.
